I am trying to install the apache server on Windows XP and I get the
following error message: "This installation package could not be
opended. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid
Windows Installer package." The file is: "apache_2.2.4-win32-x86-
openssl-0.9.8d.msi." I turned my antivirus program off and it still
won't install. Can anyone help me?

A couple of thoughts...
- The install file is corrupt. Download a new copy and try again.
- I believe there have been a few updates to Microsoft's installer
engine. Maybe yours is old and incompatible or corrupt. Update that and
try again. |
